the shapelessness required to belong (8.)

 they say
                              “don’t be a stranger”

but I suppose that might just be the point of this

                      because love
                      and grief

                                    are alchemists

                                    that turn bedrock
                                          to soapstone.

                                  (and moss to Oddkin)

                        and though these bones
                        may still hold soil
                        for that ancient dream

                                    maybe
                                            it’s okay

                          if instead
                                of growth
                                  through motion
                                    in pursuit of luminance

                                                we elect stasis
                                                in acceptance
                                                of darkness
                                                for a while.

                        and therefor
                              this is me

                        a garden of wounds

                        blooming
                                        in moonlight.

        (and for a time
            love let itself be lived
as an exchange of intimate obliterations

                        and for a time
                                    we forgot
                                        the losing of a child.)
