the shapelessness required to belong (3.)

nudity
          is war

          undress me
          and        I will forget
                        that my life
                        extends
          beyond
          the embodiment
          of the second thought
          he never gave us

          I am not
                      an
          (adequate) antidote
                                          to loneliness

          but I am someone            who
                                          improvises
                                            clemency
            to every form
            he ever dared abandon

            someone
            learning
            to become.

            (and here I dreamt,

                                            I was but driftwood
                                                            in tears
                                                                of joy

                                            a moon in amber

                                            a wound
                                            a war

                                            a boy)
